Our Isom Ranch Winery is located further into the Diablo foothills about 8 miles from the Diablo Grande’s Phase I Village and about 800 feet higher in elevation at 1,900 feet. As the crow flies this site is only about 20 miles from San Jose and the hub of California’s “Silicon Valley.” However, there are no public access roads to Isom Ranch from the west.
Our Isom Ranch site includes approximately 20 additional acres of winegrape vineyards as well as small orchards of fruit, nut, and olive trees. The Isom Ranch Winery is a 5,500 square foot building which is heavily insulated and air-conditioned to protect our wines from Central California’s heat and sunshine. The winery has state-of-the-art European-made equipment for destemming/crushing and pressing of grapes and wine. We also have a new technology rotary fermenter to improve the extraction of color and flavor and accelerate the fermentation process for red wine production.

2001 Chardonnay
This characteristic California Chardonnay exhibits nice varietal fruit flavors with an explosion of vanilla bean and hints of caramel and butterscotch resulting from 7 months in oak barrels. Creamy, smooth texture comes from the toasted oak. Fine match with poultry, seafood, & fruit tarts.

2000 Pinot Noir
Soft fruit flavors and light body are typical characteristics of the Pinot Noir varietal. Originating from the Burgundy Region in France, this wine pairs nicely with poultry, pork, and some seafood.

2001 Sangiovese
Tart cherry flavors are prominent in the mouth matched by a crisp acidity and light oaky characteristic. Medium to full flavor with a light body makes this wine an excellent pair with pastas & tomato based meat sauces.

2001 Merlot
Light yet rich with bold full flavors of ripe raspberry, black cherry with a spicy hint of pepper make this wine extremely pleasing to drink. Moderate acidity and toasty oak creates a full flavor in the mouth. To be enjoyed with veal, pork, lamb & salads.

2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Medium-bodied with aromas of red fruits and spicy herbs. Lighter in flavor with cherry and berry upfront. Lingers with a distinctive spicy finish. Pairs with lamb, pork, veal, and pastas.

2001 Deep Purple
A perfect combination of Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Merlot (30%), Barbera (30%), & Cabernet Franc (10%), making this mélange an exquisite one of balance and finesse. Deeply rich and complex this is sure to please any palate. This intricate yet velvety wine is to be enjoyed by candlelight and sure to impress. Pairs nicely with steak, pork, game, & chocolate. Yum!
